What this document is for
This privacy notice provides details on how we, Broadland District Council or South Norfolk Council (“the councils”), use your personal information for the purposes of facilitating the www.yes-lets-go.org.uk website and any activity deriving from the inclusion in said website.
By ‘use’ we mean the various ways it may be processed, including storing and sharing the information.
The Councils are what is known as the ‘Data Controller’ for your data, and act as independent, sole data controllers. The Council area that the nominated business is located in is the ‘Data Controller’ for your personal data.

What we use your information for
South Norfolk and Broadland Councils will use your information to:
- Enable due diligence checks on your business in order to qualify your listing for inclusion on the www.yes-lets-go.org.uk website.
- Contact you in respect to any additional Visitor Economy activities that we feel may would benefit you
What personal data we collect and use about you
We will collect and use the following information, some of which may form your personal data:
- Name
- Email address
- Address
- Telephone Number
- Details of your business, particularly details gathered during the due diligence checks (explained below)
- Photos & Videos
Who provides this information
We receive most of this information from you as the business representative. We may also obtain some data from the following Council departments where relevant in order to under due diligence checks on your business:
- Business Rates
- Planning
- CNC Building Control
- Food, Health & Safety
- Environmental Protection
How we share your information
We undertake due diligence checks and will share your name, business name and address with other council services listed above.
Any information which is shared will only be shared on a need-to-know basis, with appropriate individuals. Only the minimum information for the purpose will be shared.
How the law protects you and the legal basis for processing your information
We have legal grounds under the UK GDPR to process this information and do so with your consent.
How long will we keep your personal information for
We will retain data submitted for inclusion on the website (including photography and video), along with your supporting personal data until such a time as you request that this information no longer be part of the website and therefore no longer to be used by us..
If for any reason you do not want us to use any particular information or images you have provided you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing lets.go@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk. We will ensure that this is not used in future publications and are removed from the website, although they may remain in publications already in circulation. We will also delete all other supporting material within 3 months of actioning the request.
A review of personal data accuracy will take place annually, therefore you will have the opportunity during this review to ask us to stop publishing any of your information and for us to delete your data.
Cookies
In order to collect the anonymous data described in the preceding paragraph, we may use temporary “cookies” that remain in the cookies file of your browser until the browser is closed. We consider none of them to be intrusive to you; in fact some will enhance your experience on our website. The cookies that we collect are:
Cookie Law Compliance – This cookie is placed if you click the Allow button in the cookie message. It tells us you have given your consent to the use of cookies on our site and stops this message from displaying.
Session and Person ID Cookies – These allow us to place you on a more suitable page based on your previous visits to our website – it will enable you to get to the content we believe you want, quicker. We collect no personal data that would enable us to physically identify you from this Cookie.
Website Analytics data – We’ll not collect data that enable us to identify you. The only cookies which you may consider could be intrusive are those that identify which county/area of the country you come from, and if you are a new, or returning visitor.
__utma, __utmb, __utmc and __utmz cookies – We use Google Analytics. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they’re using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by making sure users are finding what they need easily.

Google re-marketing code – We may use a cookie to track you on other sites and show adverts to you based on where you have visited on our site. You Tube cookie – We use this cookie to help maintain the integrity of video statistics, prevent fraud and improve site and video experience. If you play any of the videos in our website, it will drop a cookie. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to discover the identity of the user. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. This enables you to decide if you want to accept it or not.
We also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website.
